![]() We have a few other support cards to help our Knights get there! Icon of Ancestry can also find you more Knights to play with! Other Support Cards: Vanquisher’s Banner draws you cards everytime you cast a Knight. Puresteel Paladin draws you cards every time an Equipment etbs. Phyrexian Arena is just a good draw engine and I’m adding it to the deck.Īs I already mentioned Syr Gwyn can be a source for card advantage herself. Knight of the White Orchid fetches us a Plain if an opponent controls more lands than you.įellwar Stone, Commander’s Sphere, Darksteel Ingot, Mardu Banner are all good mana rocks to have in this deck. The fact that it also creates Treasure tokens to me is just nice flavour! ![]() Smothering Tithe is just great ramp that fits in here. Sword of the Animist fetches up a basic land every time we attack with the equipped creature. We have a few cards that can help us ramp here in this deck. Whenever the equipped creature attacks you get a 2/2 White Human Knight token with vigilance that is tapped and attacking! A true flavour win! Ramp: Sigiled Sword of Valeron gives your equipped creature +2/+0, Vigilance makes it into a Knight. And when it etbs you can just straight up attach the equipment to a creature. Hammer of Nazahn gives your equipped creature +2/+0 and Indestructible. And if you pay red and white and unattach Sunforger you can tutor up any red/white Instant for 4 mana or less and you can cast it for free! This is very significant because you can search for an answer at anytime! Sunforger is an awesome equipment that gives your equipped creature +4/+0. And since almost every other creature is a Knight this fits right in! Stoneforge Masterwork makes your equipped creature bigger for each other creature that shares a creature type with it. But if we tap one generic mana, opponent’s permanents lose Hexproof and Indestructible. Shadowspear gives your creature +1/+1 lifelink and trample. Since we have an Equipment sub-theme going on in this deck, I guess we have to talk about the equipment. Leonin Shikari is our great creature allowing us to pay the equip ability at Instant Speed. Stoneforge Mystic tutors up an Equipment and cheats out our Equipment out onto the battlefield. We have a few Non-Knight creatures in this deck to help with our equipment subtheme in this deck. When this creature attacks we get 2/2 white Knights with vigilance for every opponent we have. It gets bigger the more creatures we have on the battlefield. Silverwing Squadron is our creature top ender. Worthy Knight gives us a way to go wide every time we cast a Knight Spell by giving us a white 1/1 human. Kinsbaile Cavalier gives all our Knights double strike. Mirran Crusader is one of my favourites as it has Double Strike, and protection from Black and Green. Knight Exemplar in particular is the best lord in this deck since in addition to it’s anthem effect it also gives our Knights Indestructible. ![]() Inspiring Veteran, Knight Exemplar, Benalish Marshal, Valiant Knight are our lords. And fortunately there is plenty of good Knights in the game of Magic.ĭauntless Bodyguard, Fervent Champion and Knight of the Ebon Legion are our one drops to get our Knights on the battlefield early. We of course need good knights to make this tribe good. Quite a few Knights have the First Strike keyword and there is a clear Equipment subtheme going on, so that is the Knights competitive advantage. I think what’s Knights Competitive Advantage is they are the First Strike and the Equipment Tribe. Goblins is the best “Go Wide” Tribe, Merfolk is the best “Go Tall” Tribe, Elves it’s “Fast Mana” Tribe, and Humans is the best at interaction. Every good Tribe has a competitive advantage or something that that tribe does best. When it comes to Knights as a Tribe, we need to look at what Knights do best a tribe or their “Competitive Advantage”. Her second ability reads: “Equipment you control have equip Knight 0.” So with this in mind we have a commander that’s built around Knights with an Equipment Subtheme. She has two main special abilities, her first ability reads: “Whenever an equipped creature you control attacks, you draw a card and you lose 1 life.” So she can draw you cards whenever your creatures with equipment attacks. Syr Gwyn has Vigilance and Menace meaning we don’t have to tap her when she attacks and she’s harder to block. Syr Gwyn is an interesting commander, she’s a 6 mana Human Knight for 5/5. ![]()
